Melton Borough Council in conjunction with the Melton Sport & Health Alliance and partners will be encouraging inactive residents 'to move more, more often' by showcasing a number of open/green spaces across the Melton Borough to be active and also local residents across the life course being physically active. This will be in the form of our #LetsGetMovingMelton digital campaign for 8 weeks starting Friday 1st July 2022 via @MeltonSportHA & @MeltonBC.
On Sunday 21st August we will be delivering #LetsGetMovingMelton Day. We have invited local facilities to open their doors on this day and for local instructors, coaches, sports clubs and community groups to deliver FREE or subsided physical activity taster sessions to residents.
Wilton Park is our 'Hub Site' and will host our Opening Ceremony, Health & Wellbeing stalls and physical activity sessions.
Satellite venues (to date) include;
- Gloucester House – Older Adults
- Melton Country Park – Families, Young People
- Melton Sports Village – SEND/Inclusive
- Waterfield Leisure Centre Dance Studio – Adults
- The Edge – Early Years
We are moving at pace with the organisation of the event, so more information on physical activity sessions at venues will be coming out shortly. We have so many amazing businesses, groups and instructors in the Melton Borough, and this is a great opportunity to showcase what is out there in the community, so #LetsGetsMovingMelton.
