Volunteering

Over a million people give their time to volunteer in sport in the UK, contributing to the sustainability of community sport. You don't have to be a coach or an official to volunteer-you can offer your time to help out in a variety of different ways. You could steward at a sports event, set up a lunchtime rounders club at work, or help out at sports competitions and events. You could also contribute valuable skills such as fundraising, marketing, IT, administration or management to improve the overall running and sustainability of a club.

As well as benefiting community sport, volunteering is also a great way to:

  • Make friends and meet new people
  • Enhance your CV
  • Gain valuable experience, skills and confidence
  • Improve job opportunities and employability
  • Make a difference in your community
  • Feel part of a team
