The Melton Sport & Health Alliance is the title given for the borough-wide team who work to increase physical activity participation throughout Melton. This involves conducting research, and developing exercise projects in the area that aim to break down the barriers experienced by certain target groups that can prevent them from taking part. By working in partnership, we believe we can add value to what we do and help make Melton Borough the most active in Leicestershire.
If you are someone who would like to take part in physical activity but feel that something is stopping you, whether this is a practical barrier such as timing of activities, or an emotional barrier such as self confidence or motivation, then please feel free to get in touch with the team at email@example.com. It is important that we have information about what motivates and prevents the people of Melton enjoying exercise so that we can help as many people as possible.
Please use the links at the side to find activity sessions around Melton that are right for you. If you run any activity sessions that you would like to be added to the website then contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Mission Statement - "Empowering the community to lead a healthy and active lifestyle"
A number of important partners make up the Melton Sport & Health Alliance and this group forms part of the Health Forum which is chaired by Pam Posnett, Leader of Melton Borough Council. Also within the Forum we have several additional partners including Leicestershire and Rutland NHS, Leisure Service providers, local Sports Clubs, Schools and Higher Education (via the School Sports and Physical Activity Network), Active Melton, Leicestershire County Council and Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport.
We all want to make Melton Borough an area that has a strong sustainable local sport and active recreation infra-structure where we are all involved are working in synergy towards a common aim and purpose, namely more people involved in an holistic approach to improve people's quality of life through physical activity, sport and active recreation.
